WHAT: All 22 fighters participating in Saturday’s highly-anticipated, live NBCSN  televised WSOF 19: Gaethje vs. Palomino world championship Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event at Comerica Theatre will weigh in on Friday.

The weigh-in is open to the public, free of charge.

In the world lightweight (155 pounds) championship main event,          undefeated, reigning WSOF kingpin Justin Gaethje (13-0) of Safford,  Ariz. will put his crown and perfect record on the line against aggressive- minded, hard-hitting contender Luis “Baboon” Palomino (23-9) of  Miami, Fla.

In the light heavyweight (205 pounds) co-main event and first bout of the multi-event tournament that will crown its winner the inaugural WSOF world light heavyweight champion, inspirational wrestling standout Matt “The Hammer” Hamill (11-5) of Loveland, Ohio will battle old nemesis  and devastating KO artist Thiago Silva (16-3) of Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Silva  previously earned a unanimous decision over Hamill in what was each  fighter’s last start on Oct. 9, 2013.

In another light heavyweight tilt, streaking, fast-paced finisher Teddy   Holder (8-1) of Memphis, Tenn. will look to notch his eighth consecutive win after stopping seven straight opponents, each in the first round of action, against KO artist Jake Heun (7-3) of Coconut Creek, Fla.  Heun is looking for his third straight victory.

The four-bout, live NBCSN telecast will kick off at 9:00 p.m. EST/6:00  p.m. PST with a bantamweight (135 pounds) bout between Timur Valiev  (8-1) of Albuquerque, N.M. and Ed West (18-9) of Tucson, Ariz.

A seven-bout preliminary card featuring several of the Phoenix area’s top prospects will begin at 3:00 p.m. PST.  A live stream of the preliminary card will begin on at 6:15 p.m. EST/3:15 p.m. PST.
