Mixed Martial Arts legend and long time Ultimate Fighting Championship top ranked star Urijah Faber has announced that his next fight will be the final time he steps foot inside the Octagon.
Faber (33-10, 9-6 UFC) has been a staple of the promotion’s bantamweight division since it’s inception in 2011. In that time, he’s faced some of the best bantamweights in the sport, received four title shots, had a storied rivalry with Dominick Cruz, netted four Performance of the Night bonuses and has coached on the Ultimate Fighter twice (seasons 15 and 22). Prior to his UFC run, he was one World Extreme Cagefighting’s most recognizable and prominent fighters, where he held the promotion’s featherweight title. While holding the belt, his series of fights with Jens Pulver truly helped gain mass recognition to the California based promotion.
Faber’s final fight will be against Brad Pickett on December 17 at UFC on Fox 22 in his hometown Sacramento, CA.
